Moving On, Part 2
August 7, 2007. The past three years was a blur it seems. The Alumni Association sped into a whirlwind romance and wed in Las Vegas on April 3, 2004. In one fell sweep, we drafted and signed our By-Laws, elected officers, sponsored a website and planned projects for the benefit of the WVSU College of Medicine and its alumni.

Moving On
July 5, 2005. It has been awhile since our last meeting and from my last posting. Since then, the IC has continued to move, albeit somewhat silently, considering how busy we all are in our lives, jobs and families.

A bridge has been built
October 6, 2004. Congratulations to the Philippine-based alumni and it’s officers for a successful Pearl Jubilee and 3rd Grand Alumni Homecoming! From what we have seen and heard, and by the pictures and postings in the Forum section, it appears that everybody seemed to have a great time. Indeed, we wish we were there. Unfortunately, not many of the foreign-based alumni were able to participate despite early postings and invitations through our website. The absence was sorely felt according to our old classmates and friends back home. They wished we were there too.

Bridging ties overseas
July 9, 2004. A few things have been accomplished since we decided to team up and officially congregate as the international alumni chapter. The going has been slow, but not futile.
We now are officially registered with an Employee Identification Number (EIN) with the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Our organization’s legal name as of June 10, 2004 is the “West Visayas State University Alumni Association International Chapter”. (Drop the “Inc.”) Our business address is the Las Vegas address announced earlier, and our official forum is registered as www.wvsumedaa.com.

One small step for us...
April 29, 2003. It is often said, from a Chinese proverb, that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. This journey of trying to organize an International Chapter for the WVSU College of Medicine seemed at first to be a journey too long and too laborious to undertake. However, there were individuals who rose up to the challenge and put their foot forward, and despite being few, chose to begin the first step. Thus, begins this arduous journey for the benefit of our alma mater and its alumni.
